TEST POST ASDFSDFGHG
Who: Farah and You!
Where: Shopping/Exercising in Verens, one of the bazaars, Briarlan.
When: Throughout October
Format: [No problem!]
Open (with some closed toplevels)
Summary: Catch-all. Farah can be found spending on some supplies or training around Verens. You can also throw tomatoes at her or one up her in the Festival of the Hunt.
[A - Merchant's Square]
[Now she has some spending money, Farah is out to pick up a few ingredients. There are people she wanted to try cooking with and it wouldn't help if she had nothing to work with. Plus there were so many talents cooks and bakers around already... It just felt right to stay on top of her cooking game.
She can be found perusing stalls in the merchant's square, a large basket on her arm which she's filling with all sorts of ingredients.]
I wonder what a good substitute for bear meat would be here...? I'll need something to try making burgers with.
[When she isn't wondering aloud how she might find a bear meat replacement, if you're shopping nearby then Farah will approach with a smile.]
Hey, sorry to bother you. Have you seen any satay here? I want to add some spice to what I'm preparing.
[B - Park]
[If you're walking by the park and start hearing yelling then try not to be alarmed. Farah is just very enthusiastic when it comes to her training regimen.
Though if you decide to stop and watch her you'll be treated to Farah walking herself through some of her artes. Punches, palm thrusts, high kicks-- All performed in an outfit which hardly looks suited for fighting in let alone martial arts. Still she seems to be managing well enough as her clothing swirls around her with each movement.]
Phew, okay! Now fifty laps around the trees, no problem!!
[She's certainly working up a sweat as she goes from her routine into a jog, and she's also making plenty of noise cheering herself, shouting and cheering after each successful routine she finishes.]
[C - Tomato Throwing Contest]
[With the bazaar up and running in the square there's also an area filled with barrels of tomatoes all stacked up and arranged in different ways. Some are piled high to make walls to hide and duck behind, others are turned on their side to make it easy to pick up some ammo...
Hopefully if you're wandering close to the barrels you're here to take part in the contest. Hang around for too long and you'll find a tomato heading your way!]
Think fast!
[Farah has been doing well enough to not get hit so far. She's planning on placing high in this contest and taking on all opponents! ... But she wouldn't be against teaming up and taking on any other tomato throwing teams either. Any would be team mates better survive that first tomato she threw though!]
[D - Festival of the Hunt]
[This whole festival would be perfect for Reid. He's a great hunter, finding monsters and bringing them down like it's nothing. Sadly with Reid not here she can't drag him into taking part... But she can enter herself and see how she gets on! While she was never quite as strong as him she always wanted to overtake him someday so this is like one big step closer to that goal.
She's been following a <a href="https://i.imgur.com/u70D5Qq.png>large boar like creature for some time now. A monster that size would definitely help with the city-wide feast! However it's quick, prone to charging and has a foul temper to boot. Just as she thinks she has it cornered it charges right past her and makes a run for it.] Hold still, I'm not done with you yet! [If anyone wants to help her stop the rampaging pig she'll gladly work together with them... Of course someone could just try stealing her kill too.] [E - GT1003] [It's midnight at the diner and boy is it rowdy. There's spilled coffee, smashed plates, every few minutes someone else is yelling about their food being cold-- The task description wasn't kidding when it mentioned the regulars needed plenty of attending to. When there's a spare moment in the early hours, Farah is busy wiping down the counter of the diner and looks over at her partner for the task with tired eyes.] Geeze. These guys are seriously rough customers... Maybe when the task mentioned resuscitation that was Susan's way of saying we're meant to think about knocking some sense into them. [She doesn't mean it. Really. It's just been a long night and the same few customers have been here for hours ordering food, drinks and causing a fuss. On the plus side, those free flapjacks mentioned in the task have just been whipped up with the bell being run for them to be collected. So there's that at least!]

Character: Farah Oersted
Age: 17
Canon: Tales of Eternia
Canon Point: Regulus Knoll, post fight with Rem, pre discovering Seyfert's destroyed seal.
Background: Here.
Personality:
On first appearances, Farah is a big bundle of positive energy! Normally being the first to start a conversation with others and the last one to finish talking, she presents herself as an open book who is full of smiles and support. When her friends are doubting themselves or their will to carry on, Farah tries to be there for them to remind them why they should keep going. She truly gives it her all when it comes to helping people, be it for the smallest of reasons such as finding lost items or the largest... Such as for the sake of saving Eternia. According to Farah herself, it's when she's helping others than she feels most at peace. That's why she is always eager to help, regardless of how much time it might take for her to complete a given task or how far she needs to go in order to get things done properly. She always stubbornly sticks to her goals and does everything in her ability to see them through to completion.
While wanting to help people no matter what and feeling good about doing it are undoubtedly good qualities, Farah has a history of being overly reckless and throwing herself into situations without fully understanding what might be going on. She's definitely the sort of person to act first and ask questions later, and to her credit she has a decent head on her shoulders and can think on the fly when need be. However she has on more than one occasion gotten herself and her friends into hot water by trying to help others. Upon saving a boy who appeared to be under harassment by a shopkeeper it soon turned out the boy was a well known thief and her lack of restraint and understanding meant the boy got away. Does she get flak for this behaviour? Absolutely. Reid makes fun of her reckless nature and has many stories stored up about all of her adventures in trying to help others or act kind only for things to backfire. But this does nothing to deter her. Farah keeps on wanting to help out of a joy for helping others and her own personal comfort.
However, upon meeting the "merchant" Ras, Farah comes to doubt her desire to care for others and provide them support. He questions why she pushes herself so hard to help people and what must be hurting her in order for her to act this way... Which she rightly takes as an insult! She's always been helping others, pushing herself on along with her friends to get things done, even keeping her group of friends together so that they might save the world. But he presses her further in later conversations, wondering why a commoner of Inferia would ever risk becoming an enemy of the king and risking their life on the words of a girl she can barely even understand. And all the reasoning Farah can come up with is that it's the right thing to do, that sometimes matters need to be taken into your own hands and you need to trust others despite the risks... And really, do you need a reason to trust someone?
All of her interactions with Ras highlight Farah's selfless attitude, her desire to do good without any real reason or purpose behind her actions... Or so she pretends and likes to present herself. She begins to doubt her drive to go on, wondering if maybe she's really running from something all along which she won't elaborate further on to Reid when he finds her sitting in the dark thinking to herself. It shows a side of Farah that rarely ever comes to light, where she begins questioning her own motivations and wondering if acting on instinct and helping others is only an excuse. While she might only think of the then and now in the moment, Farah can sit back and reflect on her choices and what she's doing when given the chance or the reason to do so. It also shows she isn't the type of person to outwardly express her worries or her grievances. She's found ruminating in the dark over seeking out help and through skits Farah mentions she feels weak and helpless when others worry about her too much.
These feelings of self doubt and wondering about her desire to help others eventually come to a head much later on in her adventure. Farah admits to her friends that ten years ago she was the one who brought destruction to her hometown of Rasheans by bringing her friends into Regulus Knoll, an area she was aware was dangerous and restricted for good reason. But she ignored her father's warnings and stole the key locking the gates to Regulus Knoll despite this. The events that followed involved Farah's father Norris becoming possessed by Nereid and being turned into a monster, killing many people and causing mass destruction to the town. Flashbacks show Farah took everything straight to heart, being completely distraught and repeating over and over that she killed everyone, that it was all her fault and her fault alone. It's these events that have shaped Farah into who she is. She helps others to feel as though she's atoning for her sins she committed as a child, still holding tightly onto her feelings and wounds from that day despite Reid and Keele having long since moved on.
In reality it wasn't Farah's fault for the destruction caused, however she does not learn this until investigating Regulus Knoll and Regulus Tomb for herself. Instead the events shaped her into the strong martial artist she is today. She ran away from Rasheans after the death of her father and mother and trained herself hard at Regulus Dojo to be a stronger person. When she later returned to Rasheans she began working in the fields and helping out around the town with her new strength. She becomes the sort of person who is quick to jump at the defense of others if they're facing blame, offering them support unlike when she and her friends were blamed for the destruction of Rasheans. She wants to be the support people deserve, which contrasts with the new elder and villagers who still hold the events of the past against Farah. This is why she places blind trust in Meredy and leaves the village because of her, wanting to help her no matter what... And also because saving the world would be the best way to pay back everyone for her childhood sins.
Even after the truth for Farah's motivations and behaviour come out though... She keeps going and keeping on as she always has. Her friendly nature, her desire to help others and butt into situations without fully understanding what's going on, it all persists. It proves her doubts about herself wrong, that she really is the kind of person who can't stand to see others in pain and in need of aid. So while Farah might doubt herself, might have her low moments where she needs to reflect and think on what it is she's doing, she can rise above this. Despite never going out of her way to seek out the support of her friends, she does appreciate them thinking and worrying about her the same way she thinks about them.
And really, outside of the mistakes she made as a child, her friends are the other big motivating factor for her to keep going. Even as the years passed and Keele moved away, even as she keeps working hard in Rasheans while seeing Reid now and then, she still thinks fondly of both of them and remembers the actual good times they had as children. Despite Keele going to Mintche University she still speaks very highly of him and his achievements in the face of Reid expressing doubt over a crybaby like him being any help. And even Meredy, who Farah barely knows anything about, is someone she comes to care for despite the language barrier. Farah is the sort of person who is quick to make friends, values them deeply and will always think highly of them... Even if sometimes they need a little teasing and some bossing around. It's this kind of treatment of her friends that has Keele go from calling Farah a mean boss to later describing her as a kind leader. She's firm when need be and might give her friends a shove to make sure they keep going, but she also keeps them all together through thick and thin with a smile on her face.
These same feelings towards her friends extend to Ras as well. While he might have been the one who started Farah off on questioning herself and her reasons for wanting to save the world, she still appreciates him an awful lot for the help he gave her. His death hits Farah the hardest, with her reaffirming to the party that she's fine... Which for a moment seems to be Farah just reassuring her friends in spite of how upset she is, but no, she tells them she's ready to go all the way as a result. The death of her friend only helps provide Farah with more motivation to see her goals through.
Overall, Farah wants the best everyone around her, be they a stranger in need or her friends. She will go to great lengths to provide for those she wants to help, even if she ends up causing more trouble in doing so or puts herself at risk. And despite any setbacks, Farah stubbornly keeps going on... While providing more fuel for Reid to poke fun at her selfless yet reckless personality. As he puts it himself, when it comes to Farah the advice of others falls on deaf ears. She carries with her a tremendous amount of guilt and self doubt which she hasn't let go of in ten years, and at times she finds herself lost and questioning her reasons for acting. But despite her pain and what she has suffered through, Farah truly is selfless and caring deep down... Even if she has trouble seeing herself that way.
Abilities:
Strength: With all the hard work Farah has put in helping manage the fields in Rasheans and with the extensive training she's undergone at Regulus Dojo she's been left with above average strength that makes lifting mounds of crops and handling animals easy. Of course along with helping out around Rasheans this strength also helps with her...
Fighting: Opting for her fists, feet and a variety of gauntlets over a handheld weapon, Farah employs a number of artes which involve her getting up close and personal to fight. Diving kicks, somersaults and even blasts of chi energy aren't out of the question. She can even combine her abilities with those of her friends, leading to elemental attacks like water fueled uppercuts and blasts of lightning. What she lacks in range she more than makes up for in versatility, being able to approach from multiple different angles and even from the air to engage enemies and lock them into brutal combos. For as strong as she is though, Farah still laments that Reid and his self taught fighting style is stronger than her despite her time training hard.
Cooking: Having been bestowed the highest honour for Inferian chefs, the title of Warrior Chef, Farah's cooking is pretty incredible. Her specialty is home cooking with her meals garnering some enthusiastic if slightly over the top reactions from her judges in various stages of a cooking contest. Even then though, Reid comments before the final battle that he wants to return home so he can taste her omelettes again. Sure he's just being a sap, but hey, it has to count for something!
Healing: While not on the levels of Meredy and Keele and their Craymel artes, Farah can also provide backup healing where need be. Her support abilities were bestowed upon her by people who realised her talent for helping others, knowing she would put the skills to good use. As such she can provide basic healing, cure weakness and poison and even bring someone back from the brink of death in a pinch.
Alignment: Daimonia. Farah is bright, happy and cheerful, always wanting to better the lives of those around her no matter the cost to herself. Beneath the surface though she still carries a tremendous amount of guilt that motivates her to act selflessly on instinct.

![]() ☄ First Impressions ♚ VISUAL: Average human in appearance, albeit with green hair. It might be possible to see the odd scrape or bruise on her skin, particular on her hands due to her fighting style and the training she goes through. Farah stands at 5'3". ♚ FASHION: Despite being a martial artist who makes use of a number of high, tumbling kicks, she tends to opt for a long orange dress which doesn't hinder her abilities at all. Normal outfit aside, Farah tends to gravitate towards oranges, yellows and reds in her clothing, normally going for dresses, skirts, simple blouses and shirts whilst avoiding anything form fitting where she can. The red ribbon around her neck is rarely ever taken off as it is a symbol of her status as a commoner in Inferia. ♚ DEMEANOUR: Confident, through and through! She carries herself well and appears cheerful and eager even at just a glance. It's enough that it's very noticeable when Farah is feeling down, often secluding herself when this happens. Gives off a pleasant vibe and will even force a smile when she's upset to reassure those around her. ♚ SOUND: Her Japanese voice is provided by Yuko Minaguchi who also voiced Videl in DBZ, Kouko in Clannad and Momiji in the Ninja Gaiden/DoA series to name a few roles. In English her voice goes uncredited. [ English ] [ Japanese ] ♚ SCENT: Usually clean, fresh smelling though also not uncommon to find her smelling of farm animals or home cooking given all the chores she does. Providing she has the time and the money she might opt for a light perfume when she has the chance. On training days expect a heavy scent of sweat due to the intense regimen Farah follows. ♚ MENTAL INFORMATION: Farah possesses no mental barriers or blocks, so if you would like to read her mind give me a heads up and we can sort something out. While outwardly upbeat she carries a lot of heavy personal baggage relating to self blame, guilt over actions she made as a child and a lack of purpose or drive (though she's mostly bested the latter there). ♚ MAGICAL INFORMATION: Farah has access to numerous artes which allow her to take on foes many times her size. Even without these artes she is particularly strong thanks to her dojo training and time working in the fields. Some of these artes involve fire or energy projectiles from her hands and feet. She can also heal, remove weakness and poisoning and bring allies back from the brink of death with her healing artes. ![]() ![]() ☄ OOC ♚ BACKTAGGING: My life. I'll try to match you and keep backtagging as long as I can. If I drop any threads you're interested in continuing give me a poke! ♚ THREADJACKING: I'm all for it, a heads up you're going to hop in somewhere is appreciated but by no means necessary. ♚ FOURTHWALLING: No thank you. ♚ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: I'm good with anything. There aren't any subjects that would particularly upset Farah to the point I wouldn't want to play things out. ♚ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: All good. Sudden hugs or anything more from strangers might be too much too soon depending on the person. Just be aware you might end up getting kicked if you're too eager. ♚ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Farah is a fighter and is down to spar and train with anyone. Outside of friendly practice fights she's used to fighting all manner of monsters and people so feel free to try and rough her up. Anything severe like breaking bones or worse though I'd rather talk about first. ♚ RELATIONSHIPS: Absolutely! Crushes, dating, romance, it's all good. If there's anything in particular you would like to do with Farah then hit me up! Otherwise I am more than happy for things to develop slowly as and when they want to. |
